Piqued began as an electronic music meet up in San Francisco, California. Composed of live performances and interviews with the artists, founders Korey Luna and Richard Hogben brought the monthly event to a growing local scene.

Trovarsi

Trovarsi / CEO

Trovarsi is an LA-based music composer/producer, live electronic artist, educator, and streaming YouTube host. Over the past decade, Trovarsi has released her music on a wide variety of notable electronic music labels. Her work transcends genres, cultures, and boundaries, yet also authentically and reverentially embraces many creative traditions. With a hybrid blend of modular and analog synthesizers, drum machines, and Ableton, Trovarsi embraces Afrofuturistic electronic expression while remaining firmly planted by her musical roots.

Trovarsi is the curator and host of Transduction Signal on DubLab Radio, a monthly interview/performance show highlighting unique live performance artists, composers, and producers in electronic music.

She is also co-founder of the Southern California Synth Society, whose purpose is to educate and facilitate interest in electronic music through synthesizers, modular DIY builds, and community events. She also founded the international streaming festival Frequency Shift, featuring female and gender-expansive electronic artists.

Whether performing in the LA underground or on global streaming platforms, Trovarsi continues to push the boundaries of electronic music.


Richard

Richard / CTO CCO

Richard Hogben co-hosts the Patch Dispatch podcast and produces the Monologs video series alongside Korey Luna. Patch Dispatch covers electronic music news and current events, while Monologs takes a closer look at your favorite electronic music artists, exploring their creative process through interviews and performances.

Drawing inspiration from 1990s electronica acts like Orbital, Underworld, and Aphex Twin, Richard was actively involved in Southern and Baja California's music scene during the early 2000s, designing flyers for friends’ events. “My roommate was deeply into Techno and Tech House, and I often served as ‘tech support,’ which is how I ended up with Reason on my computer.”

Driven by his passion for electronic music, Richard founded Piqued with Korey Luna, creating a platform for electronic music artists and enthusiasts. As Chief Creative and Technical Officer, his dedication to fostering a vibrant community and sharing the art form has been a cornerstone of Piqued's mission, helping to connect and inspire electronic music creators and fans alike.


Materielle

Materielle, where music intertwines with the very essence of materiality. Based in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, she emerges weaving threads of sound, bringing inspiration from woven fabrics into her work. With nearly a decade of experience working in a leading music software and hardware company, she brings a deep technical understanding to her art and work.

Amidst the pandemic’s challenges, Materielle not only persevered but thrived, founding a groundbreaking label and cultivating a successful platform, Deckrekord, that showcased America’s rising artists, whom many are now headlining festival stages. Her channel and label became essential platforms for emerging talent, and her keen eye for innovation and unwavering dedication have established her as a respected figure in the industry.

As Chief Marketing Officer at Piqued.fm, Materielle will leverage her extensive experience and innovative vision to transform the platform, crafting forward-thinking marketing strategies while elevating emerging and undiscovered talent to the forefront of the industry. Her leadership will drive Piqued.fm's expansion and redefine its global presence.


Korey

Korey / CPO

Inspired by the variety of talented musicians he encountered while performing in the underground electronic music scenes of San Francisco and Oakland, Korey started the North Beats podcast to interview and promote electronic artists

As the podcast gained traction, Korey expanded his efforts to support the community by partnering with Richard Hogben to create Piqued. At Piqued, Korey developed a live electronic music show that curated two artists a month for performance and interview before a live audience.

As Chief Production Officer at Piqued, he and Richard co-produce Monologs, a video documentary series featuring individual artists, and Patch Dispatch, a video newscast about the electronic music scene. Additionally, Korey hosts the Seismic Audio podcast to showcase streaming music from independent musicians.

Korey's early music career began in 2000 with bands like Midnightmare, Dead Sexy, and Red Youth. He currently produces solo as KZZL.
