For years Barbosa has been refining his experimental sound, which seamlessly blurs the lines between raw-hypnotic and tough stripped back techno in a fashion that has earned him support from a wide range of high caliber artists including Richie Hawtin, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, DVS1, Luke Slater, Speedy J and many other techno heavyweights. His DJ sets, much like his productions, are fast-paced and minimal, while consistently pushing sonic boundaries and taking audiences on a relentless journey to the outer limits of musical potentiality.

With the foundation of his label ‘Heist Mode’ in 2020, Barbosa has quickly proven himself one of the leading taste makers in the North American techno circuit, creating a platform to showcase music from both young neophytes and seasoned veterans of the scene. On the production side, Barbosa’s releases on present genre defining labels Hayes Collective, BCCO, SYXT, PRTL WRX, and other contemporary outlets proves him a multi-faceted talent and force, with plays weekly at top venues Berghain, Bassiani, Fabric, Fold, Radion, Tresor, as well as many other top techno clubs internationally.

In 2023, Richie Hawtin and his team pulled Barbosa in to create and perform a new rendition of his revered "From Our Minds" concept. Together with his team, Hawtin had Barbosa put forth the new concept of bringing together North America's top techno draft class picks and the most coveted underground warehouse promoters, for a tour with the intention of reviving true rave and sound system culture with Hawtin at the forefront.

After proving himself on working with Richie Hawtin, Barbosa was immediately noticed and placed on support for an array of the veteran artists such as Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Oscar Mulero, Adriana Lopez, 9x9, Amelie Lens, [Ø] Phase and many more.

Now, with a new year fast approaching, Barbosa continues to traverse into territories unknown, a journey that will certainly culminate in his being recognized as a phenom in the underground space for years to come.
