The main goal of Pioneer 11 has always been to connect live instrumentation with electronic elements. We grew up listening to great live bands and great electronica artists but often found that the creative process between these different styles was worlds apart.

We made it our mission to pull what we loved from both approaches: the organic free flowing nature of a live band with the endlessly creative possibilities of the electronic soundscape. Basically, we focused on performing our version of electronic music completely live.

By adding Joey, with his ability to sequence drums and synth on the fly, we’ve been able to create something that feels new and exciting to us. It’s like we’ve found a unique intersection of House music and Psych Rock that can make people dance without sacrificing the spontaneity of live music.
