Sasha

Sasha (born Alexander Coe) is a Welsh DJ and producer widely regarded as one of the pioneers of progressive house and a transformative figure in electronic dance music. Rising to prominence in the UK's early '90s acid house scene, he became known for his emotive, melodic approach to DJing that helped define the progressive house sound. His partnership with John Digweed in the mid-'90s became legendary, producing the seminal "Northern Exposure" mix series and their groundbreaking residency at New York's Twilo, which influenced an entire generation of DJs and producers. Sasha was among the first DJs to embrace technology in his performances, pioneering the use of Ableton Live in DJ sets and later his custom "REFRACTED:LIVE" show, which reimagines his music with live musicians and visual artists. His Grammy-nominated album "Airdrawndagger" (2002) showcased his production skills beyond the dancefloor, while his "Involver" mix compilation series demonstrated his innovative approach to remixing and DJing. Through his label Last Night On Earth and continued evolution as an artist, from club DJ to live performer to ambient composer, Sasha remains at the forefront of electronic music, constantly pushing creative boundaries while maintaining his signature emotional depth and technical excellence.
