Spotlight Floodlight is the experimental music project of Peter Adams, a pianist, keyboardist, and electronic musician based in Los Angeles. Originally from Lexington, Massachusetts, Adams has worked as a session keyboardist with notable artists including Rickie Lee Jones, Josh Groban, Tears for Fears, and Belinda Carlisle. Under the Spotlight Floodlight moniker since 2009, his solo work has evolved toward increasingly minimal and experimental compositions, combining felt-treated piano with modular synthesizers, violin, and cello. His recent albums "Aviary" (2024) and "Montebello" (2022) explore the intersection of acoustic piano composition and electronic improvisation, creating contemplative soundscapes that blur the boundaries between traditional and avant-garde music. His modular synthesizer performances have been featured at Desert X, MexSynthCO Guadalajara, and various Los Angeles venues.
