Sandwell District are the influential techno collective formed by Karl O’Connor (Regis), Dave Sumner (Function), Peter Sutton (Female) and Juan Mendez (Silent Servant). Known for their shadowy presence, uncompromising sound and anti-commercial stance, they reshaped the landscape of underground techno in the 2000s with their revered Feed-Forward album and fiercely collaborative spirit. After more than a decade apart, O’Connor and Sumner have reunited for End Beginnings, a cinematic and defiant return that also serves as a tribute to their late comrade Mendez. Older, maybe wiser, but as outspoken and uncompromising as ever, Sandwell District remain true originals.
