Santiago Salazar, also known as DJ S2, emerged from the early ’90s Los Angeles underground, inspired by the city’s queer house scene before moving to Detroit. OBSERVE RETURNS: FALL SHOW 2025 — LOS ANGELES
Celebrating 23 years of Techno in LA
This is an incredibly special night that carries a deeper significance to our crew: after 16 years, we proudly welcome back Sandwell District for only their second appearance with us in LA since 2009.
The Sandwell District collective—Regis, Function, and of course the late Silent Servant, who was a undeniable true cornerstone of our LA community—emerged in the 2000s with a sound and vision that cut against the grain. Raw, dark, and uncompromising, they reshaped what techno could be and inspired a generation to demand more from the music.
Their influence permanently shifted the future of the genre, proving that integrity and vision matter more than trends. Much of what we value in our scene today can be traced back to their foundation.
This night is more than a celebration for us, it’s a moment for us to reflect on our decades of dedication to a music that shaped us, it’s a reminder to return to our roots: to reject fads, resist shortcuts, and hold fast to what has always mattered most—quality, honesty, and vision
