Theo Parrish is a Detroit-based DJ, producer, and founder of the influential Sound Signature record label (1997). Originally from Washington D.C. and raised in Chicago, Parrish has become a pivotal figure in underground house music, known for his raw, jazz-infused productions featuring unconventional drum programming and heavy sampling. His marathon DJ sets blend disco, funk, jazz, soul, and house into deeply personal musical journeys, while his uncompromising artistic vision and resistance to commercial trends have established him as a respected elder statesman of underground dance music.
Lyja is a San Francisco Bay Area DJ known for her eclectic sets that blend house, disco, tech house edits, and throwback grooves with vocal-driven selections. With deep roots in the music scene since childhood, she transitioned from years of producing events and collecting music to commanding the decks herself. She's opened for notable acts including Purple Disco Machine, Chromeo, J.Phlip, and Psychemagik, performed at festivals like Northern Nights and Raindance, held residencies at iconic venues such as A Club Called Rhonda and WERD, and curates her own events under her Create Magic brand.
Smokes is a Bay Area-based DJ and WERD resident who maintains a purist approach as an all-vinyl selector. Her sets navigate through disco, house, and leftfield sounds, establishing her as a fixture in both the Bay Area underground scene and international dance floors. A musician in the womb, classically trained violinist and audiophile, Smokes has been curating her record collection pretty much her whole life. Known for her deep crate-digging sensibility and genre-fluid selections, she brings a raw, analog warmth to her performances that has made her a sought-after selector worldwide.
Umee Dee is a DJ and producer whose eclectic style spans deep house, techno, tech house, and ambient music. With roots from ancient India, birth in Africa, then schooling in the UK, Umee Dee's music journey is just as exotic, beginning at age 12 when she discovered ambient electronica. Now DJ-ing since 2014, she has performed at numerous Burning Man events, including an ambient meditative set for the Journey Project via the Robot Heart art car, and has played support for notable acts like Pan-Pot at Public Works in San Francisco. In 2022, Umee ventured into her first European gigs including ambient set ADE2022 Vrij Palais art collective and house/techno set at the JK Kaffeestube club (Disco Babel) in Berlin, Germany. She's also a regular participant in Mioli record label events and released her first original track on their 9-year anniversary compilation. Her diverse influences range from Berghain's industrial techno to organic melodic house and psychedelic disco, and she even programs ultra-ambient music for ketamine therapy clients.

Join us for an intimate night with one of contemporary house music’s most respected names, Theo Parrish. Theo will grace us with five+ hours of pure musical storytelling.
Theo Parish is celebrated for his unique, personalized interpretations of the genre, rooted in jazz, soul, disco, new wave, and more. Debuting on Moodymann’s KDJ label, with whom he later formed the renowned 3 Chairs project alongside Marcellus Pittman and Rick Wilhite, he quickly went on to found his own Sound Signature imprint to focus on his own work. Theo’s music slowly grew in stature as he refined his production style, going on to release many of Detroit’s most celebrated house classics of his era.
Now an established legend very much in demand for his searching DJ sets, Theo’s work continues to evolve as his profile rises. His recent releases highlight a loose, jazz-inspired atmosphere prominently featuring live musicians, many of them important Detroit players. Known for his sculptural approach to DJing, his appearances are lessons in groove, gritty soul, and music history, often extended to epic lengths and weaving experimental ideas & raw rhythm into a sound both ancestral & futuristic that shifts perspectives while moving bodies. Following successes with Louie Vega and ReSolute’s San Francisco debut with Raresh, we invite you to immerse yourself in a genre-defying journey led by a true master of the craft.
Joining us as well, Umee Dee returns along with Lyja and Smokes, setting the vibes in the front room lounge. This is one not to miss.
