Ableton has released Live 12.3 in public beta, bringing stem separation capabilities to Live 12 Suite and Push 3 Standalone. The feature, powered by Music AI algorithms, allows users to split vocals, bass, drums, and other elements from any audio clip with a few clicks.
The update integrates Splice's sample library directly into Live's Browser, enabling users to search and audition royalty-free sounds in sync with their projects. A new Search with Sound feature lets users find samples that match the rhythms and harmonies of existing audio.
Live 12.3 adds the ability to bounce Group tracks and introduces Paste Bounced Audio, which converts copied clips to audio with processing intact. The Auto Pan-Tremolo device has been redesigned with separate panning and tremolo tabs, expanded modulation controls, and additional time modes. All built-in devices now include A/B parameter comparison.
Push 3 receives an XYZ layout that transforms the pads into an expressive touchscreen controller, along with a Rhythm Generator for creating drum patterns. The update also adds support for class-compliant audio interfaces on Push 3 Standalone.
The beta includes new MIDI Tools in the Generators Pack by Iftah, featuring the Sting acid bass pattern generator and the Patterns rhythm creator. Updates to existing packs add new functionality to Expressive Chords and Sequencers.
Ableton Move 1.6 and Note 1.5 updates launch alongside the beta, with Move receiving new Sliced Loop presets and Note offering full Drift synthesizer parameter access as an in-app purchase.
