DivKid patches drum sounds with u-he's MELT filter

DivKid posted a video on 22 September showing drum patches built around MELT, u-he's analogue Eurorack filter module. It runs 20 minutes and 21 seconds, and it is his second video on the module; the description states that u-he sponsored and funded it.

Patch BETTER Unique Modular Drum Sounds // MELT from u-he

The patching is split into three sections. From 2:10 he covers filter pings, dynamics, kicks, clicks and bass. From 8:06 he works through snare drum synthesis, starting with a basic patch and adding dynamics. From 13:45 he builds a kick drum patch with techno bass rumbles on top.

DivKid says the video covers "advancing your patching basics, building functional building blocks and techniques for drum synthesis". He has posted a PDF patchbook and a VCV Rack version of the patches to his Patreon.

MELT is a 14HP four-pole low-pass cascade filter with a simultaneous band-pass output and slopes switchable between 12, 18 and 24 dB per octave. Its Core Temperature control varies saturation in the filter core, and an AUX input feeds the output VCAs while bypassing the filter. u-he released it on 27 August at an MSRP of €299, through retailers rather than direct; KVR Audio reported it as the company's first fully analogue Eurorack module, joining CVilization, Wiretap and CEN2RION in the range.
