Befaco published a video introducing the features of ARK, the eurorack groovebox it developed with Tesseract Modular, on 18 September. The module was shown at Superbooth in May and is due late in 2026 at €666 including VAT.
Befaco describes ARK as “a music production computer where algorithms, chance, and signals converge in a single creative workspace” and “a 16-track canvas where you can place CV generators, drum voices, synth voices, and different types of samplers, including drum players, slicers, and granular samplers.” The company says it is “available very soon”.
Each of the 16 tracks has its own sequencer with deterministic, stochastic and Euclidean modes, and the module carries 16 internal modulation sources plus harmony tools based on scales and chord progressions. Tracks run into an internal mixer with effects and master dynamics.
ARK splits into two parts, a sequencer module and a master module holding the screen, encoders, configuration buttons and I/O, so the halves can be placed separately in a case. Connections are MIDI in and out on TRS minijacks, six CV inputs, eight CV and gate outputs, clock and reset in and out, and a USB-A host port.
US dealer Detroit Modular has ARK listed for pre-order at $799 and gives the width as 40 HP.
