Dirtywave has previewed the MX, a battery-powered hardware performance mixer, alongside the release of its M8 tracker app for iOS. The company says the mixer is still in development, with price and availability to be announced and a launch targeted for 2027.

The MX has an aluminium body, matching the M8's construction. Its controls are two contactless hall-effect sensor faders with LED indicators, a crossfader, two encoders, six assignable potentiometers and ten buttons, laid out for two-deck mixing between an A and a B channel.
There are three stereo inputs and three stereo outputs on 3.5 mm jacks, plus a stereo headphone output. Internally the MX runs as an eight-channel mixer: connected over USB, it takes all eight of the M8's channels into separate mixer channels down a single cable.
Punch-in effects and MIDI
Eight effect slots hold punch-in effects triggered by button press: a looper, a filter, modulation effects including flanger and comb, amp and distortion, delay and reverb. According to Dirtywave the mixer detects tempo automatically so that effects sync to the incoming beat, and each slot's parameters can be edited. Three assignable LFOs offer multiple waveshapes, including shapes drawn by hand.
MIDI is handled through a routing matrix, with two TRS MIDI in and out sockets and both USB host and USB device ports. The MX can send and receive MIDI to sync other instruments.
Price and availability
Neither a price nor a ship date has been announced, and Dirtywave has said only that the MX is planned for 2027. The company's most recent releases are the M8 Model:02 hardware revision and this month's M8 app for iOS.
