Make Noise is marking ten years of the 0-Coast today, Saturday 12 September, with a day of free events along Haywood Road in Asheville, North Carolina. The company is calling the day 10-Coast.
The Make Noise shop at 414 Haywood Road is open for hands-on demos from 2pm to 4.30pm. From 2pm to 5pm, Chris Hamilton and Steve Pescatore are running a tape loop installation built around the 0-Coast at Lamplight Studios, 2 Westwood Place.
The 10-Coast concert follows at the AyurPrana Listening Room, 312 Haywood Road. Make Noise says it starts at 6pm and features members of the Make Noise crew playing sets made on the 0-Coast. All three events are free, though the concert requires an RSVP through Dice.
The 0-Coast was Make Noise's first standalone desktop instrument, a single-voice semi-modular that the company built around both east coast and west coast synthesis techniques. It is still in the catalogue.
