The n-1 from Null modular is open for pre-orders at a fairly affordable price, $98 for 48HP and $128 for 84HP, and shipping in May. As Eurorack rails alone can run as much as $50, it appears that the likely CNC cut plywood construction has kept manufacturing costs down. You will need to bring your own power supply for now.
Introducing the n-1 case, a sleek, thoughtfully designed Eurorack modular case for sound and music makers. Our flat-packable case interlocks and slides together, requiring no tools to assemble. Later in the year, we will be launching a range of accessories that will provide further versatility to the n-1 case. These add-ons will allow you to customize your case to suit your unique preferences, ensuring it remains an adaptable companion on your evolving musical journey.
The product design is "toolless" as it only requires four dowels to construct the body, and then simply four screws to hold the rails in place. For those who prefer a more vertically oriented setup the n-1 is primarily displayed in that position, but I see no reason why you couldn't lay it down on its back. Integrated handles are a nice touch since small boxes like this are more than likely to be mobile.
It will be interesting to see what accessories they release. Assuming a power supply will be one of them, they could also add taller side panels for a stacked 6U setup or even just a 1U row or modules. The website mentions customization, so maybe other colors or materials will be made available in the future.
Null Modular products are designed in Los Angeles, as well as prototyped and manufactured in California.
