Olivia Artz Modular has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Patience, a 14HP eurorack modulation source that can be set to complete one cycle in anything from a fraction of a second to 60 years.

The Northampton, Massachusetts builder describes it as a “lowest” frequency oscillator. Its period is dialled in units of seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years or decades, and at the fast end it reaches 60 Hz, which puts it at the bottom of the audio range.

Waveforms and outputs

Seven shapes are available:

• Stepped random
• Sine
• Triangle
• Ramp up
• Ramp down
• Square
• A trigger that fires once per cycle

The output switches between bipolar, -5V to +5V, and unipolar, 0V to 5V. A button and a gate input both reset the waveform. The front panel also carries a physical lock, supplied with a spare key, that disables the controls so a long-running cycle cannot be knocked out of step.

Kickstarter funding

The campaign runs from 1 September to 1 October 2026 with a goal of $14,000. As of 8 September it had raised $10,660 from 36 backers. Olivia Artz Modular says on the campaign page: “If we know up front that we have guaranteed orders for Patience we can afford to dedicate the time that this idea deserves.”

A special edition adds an acid-etched nickel silver faceplate by the artist Cassilda Desdemona. Patience follows Time Machine, the company’s multi-tap delay, which CDM reports sold in the hundreds.
