Teenage Engineering published an interview with the Swedish musician Esther in its "now" series on 10 September, covering her debut album and the live rig she plays it on.

Esther performs with a foldable MIDI vibraphone that triggers sounds from an OP-XY. "the OP–XY is the brain and the vibraphone is the tool," she says in the piece. She told the company she is drawn to the playing rather than the instrument's own voice: "i actually like playing the vibraphone more than the sound of the instrument itself, so i love being able to choose what sound it plays."

Her debut album, Fragmentality, came out on 5 June on Skolhaus and runs to ten tracks across 31 minutes. The oldest song on it dates from 2019. She wrote the record with Vincent Pontare, Salem Al Fakir, Marcus White, Tove Burman, Joel Henriksson, Wilma Wall and Amanda Börjesson.

The interview traces her connection to the company to 2017, when she played Haven Festival as one of the first musicians from outside Teenage Engineering to use its sound system, and to a video for the Pocket Operator Modular launch two years later. "honestly, teenage engineering is a big reason why i'm making music today," she says.
