Under the name Next Expanse, Evan Buswell performs and records ambient and experimental electronic music. While influenced by the shifting timbres of drone, the recontextualization of vaporwave, and the complexity of the 20th/21st century classical tradition, Buswell's work focuses mainly on melodic and harmonic structures. His music weaves this melodic content with subdued rhythms, synthetic sounds, and field recordings to create spaces of beauty, spirituality, and healing. He is on the verge of releasing two EPs: "For the Healing of Anaya," and "Structures." Additionally, as a self-taught programmer and electrical engineer, Buswell is exploring new synthesis techniques and algorithms. Buswell currently resides in Davis, CA, where he is pursuing a doctorate in cultural studies.
